Summertime Fun

I haven't posted for awhile because while we've been super busy, not many great pictures have come from our activities. We are having so much fun this summer! We are running around all the time, going to the pool, visiting Quinn's aunts and cousins, running errands, meeting Daddy for lunch, etc. Here are just a few pictures have come from the last 2 weeks. We'll have a lot more after the 4th of July and our upcoming trip to Michigan.

Here's Quinn as a "kiki bird", as Andy's mom and dad would call him when they left his shirt partially on his head. : )
Yes, Quinn is working on crawling. He gets up on all fours like in this picture and rocks back and forth like a car "vrooming". He pivots, rolls, and inches his way all over the floor. I knew when he was born we had a mover and a shaker on our hands! The only time he stops moving is if he's tired or sleeping, which luckily happens more often now that he's more active. Last week we had 3 nights where he slept 12 hours straight!
Bible study buddies! These handsome little guys' mommies are all in Bible study together. Will, Carter, and Quinn all had fun at the pool together last week. (Their mommies have a lot of fun together too!)
What a happy little guy!

Happy Father's Day!

How exciting it was to celebrate Andy's first Father's Day! Quinn is so blessed to have such an amazing daddy who loves him (and his mommy!!) so much and works so hard to give our family a wonderful life. Happy Father's Day to our dads and to all you dads and dads-to-be out there!
Daddy holds the best present of all--Quinn (wearing his "I Love Daddy" onesie, of course)!
We went up to Lapaz to spend the afternoon with the Alberts and Klawitters. Andy was really excited to get the first four-generation picture of Albert guys: Great-Grandpa Lou, Papa Bruce, Andy, and Quinn. I won't even begin to describe the craziness that went on behind the cameras in order to get everyone looking and somewhat smiling for this picture!
Quinn's chubby cheekers were in danger of being kissed off by his Great-Uncle Tony. ( : Four generations of Alberts by Albert Street in Lapaz
Quinn loved playing with Kamryn, Austin, and Adalyn.
It's always a treat to hang out with Aunt Amy!

Finally, enough was enough. After oodles of pictures and all kinds of new faces to look at, Quinn was more than happy to settle in on Aunt Amy's shoulder and take a nap.

Cereal and Swimming Saturday

Wearing a bib from Grandma and Poppa Schley appropriately saying, "Dressed to Spill", Quinn has his first taste of cereal on Saturday. We waited until he was six months old, and he is definitely ready to start with foods. He's been longingly eyeing our food when we eat in front of him lately, so it's going to be a fun new adventure figuring out what foods he likes and dislikes. I'm thinking my little piggy is going to like pretty much everything. : )

Later in the day, we tried to beat the heat by going swimming. Andy was so excited to go swimming with Quinn for the first time since we were in Florida back in April.
Check out that fuzzy head of hair!!

Quinn's sitting up!

Yup, this picture is proof. Quinn is sitting up! Of course, we have to place him in the sitting up position, and he can only hold himself that way for 30 seconds at most, but I'm counting it! Sometimes he leans all the way forward so his face is almost touching the ground and then pushes himself back up. Since he was born, people have commented on how strong he is, and we're definitely seeing that now. What a fun new skill!
The rest of these pictures are just fun moments from the last week.
Checking out the view from Daddy's shoulders
Checking out cousin Fiona
Having an absolute blast with Aunt Carolyn at her pool
Wearing a special shirt for Mommy that reads, "If you think I'm cute, you should see my mommy". Quinn told me he wanted to wear it. Really!! :)
Isn't this what rubber duckies are for? The kid won't even think about taking a pacifier but loves sucking on his rubber duckies during his bath. Go figure!
We've been working on helping Quinn learn how to soothe himself to sleep at nap time, and he finally discovered sucking his thumb. It melts my heart every time I see him asleep like this.

Little Buddies

We always have so much fun with Nan and Will, and we finally got some adorable pictures of our little guys interacting. These two are bound to be best friends! (Thanks, Lisa, for holding Quinn while I took the pictures!)

Super Saturday

After Memorial Day weekend and Andy taking Tuesday off to spend together as a family, it was a quick and low-key week. I didn't think I'd have any new pictures to post, but then this morning we caught some cute moments I thought I'd share.

Quinn loves hanging out on Mommy and Daddy's bed in the morning. He is so close to sitting up on his own and can hold himself up for a few seconds before tipping to the side or forward.
You guessed it--Quinn's watching the ceiling fan again and looks purely delighted.
What a great surprise! Andy's Aunt LuAnn and cousin Kamryn were in town for the day to watch a tennis tournament. We were so excited to get to see them for awhile!
What a dynamic duo--Daddy and Quinn!
It's a little blurry, but I love this face.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very fun Memorial Day weekend. Grandma and Poppa Schley were here, and we spent many wonderful hours all together as a family. My mom took some great pictures of Quinn and me.

Quinn loves this warm weather because so-fun-to-watch ceiling fans are on everywhere, which is what he's looking at in this picture.
So proud to be standin' up!
Quinn's love affair with his hands continues. His toes are a close second.
Quinn loves his Poppa and Grandma!!

In this picture, Quinn is trying to pet Oliver, and Andy's talking to my dad about the men's lacrosse national championship on t.v. The reason I posted this pic, however, is because it really shows how much Q and A look alike! We hear it from everyone, but in this picture, the resemblance is very clear. :)

5 months old!

I was thankful for the cooler weather this week for one reason--getting to dress Quinn in some warmer outfits that he's quickly growing out of! We love this Adidas outfit (with matching Adidas pants that don't show in this pic) from Daniel and Amanda Hernandez.

Quinn and Daddy were all smiles on Sunday morning.
I love this picture of our wonderful friends' boys Colin and Issac Kuhn. They are the most darling boys, and it's so fun to see what I have to look forward to. This picture cracked me up because Issac soooo wanted to pet Quinn's head but knew he wasn't supposed to. ( :
We had a very fun visit with Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dennis this weekend. Quinn loved swinging with Grandma Mary on our front porch swing.

What a busy week!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms and moms-to-be who read this! I'm soooo excited to enjoy my first official Mother's Day (Quinn was just Little Bean last year at this time)!

We had another fun week. Our current project is trying to figure out what time Quinn should go to bed at night in order to help him take better naps during the day. He puts himself to sleep and sleeps very well at night, but he doesn't like to nap very much. No teeth yet, so we'll just keep experimenting until we figure out what works! :)

Aunt Amy drove all the way here by herself just to spend the day with her nephew. Quinn was thrilled to see her!
This week, Quinn discovered his toes and . . .
his dog, Oliver! He is just fascinated by Oliver, even smiling at him sometimes, but sadly, Oliver still seems to not realize Quinn is there. : )
While at first glance, this may look like a boring picture, it was actually quite exciting. Quinn woke up at 5 the other morning, which is normal for a nighttime feeding. When I went into his nursery, however, I saw the top of his head--he had rolled over onto his tummy but couldn't figure out how to roll back! It was very exciting because since rolling over onto his tummy a few weeks ago, he's lost interest in doing it. After I fed him, I put him back in his crib, and he promptly flipped to his tummy again and fell asleep. It was so cute I had to wake Andy up to show him and take a picture.
We were able to spend two afternoons with Will and Nan this week. Our guys are getting so good at their Jumperoos and Exersaucers. Will is a wonderful model for how to grab toys and play with them more. They still don't look at each other too much, but Nan and I know they'll be best friends soon.
Each day this week was beautifully sunny and warm. I like this picture of us before going on a walk because I love Quinn's chubby little thighs hanging out the bottom. : ) Quinn's face is funny too; he really does like being in the Baby Bjorn even though he looks like a grumpy old man in this picture.
