Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very fun Memorial Day weekend. Grandma and Poppa Schley were here, and we spent many wonderful hours all together as a family. My mom took some great pictures of Quinn and me.

Quinn loves this warm weather because so-fun-to-watch ceiling fans are on everywhere, which is what he's looking at in this picture.
So proud to be standin' up!
Quinn's love affair with his hands continues. His toes are a close second.
Quinn loves his Poppa and Grandma!!

In this picture, Quinn is trying to pet Oliver, and Andy's talking to my dad about the men's lacrosse national championship on t.v. The reason I posted this pic, however, is because it really shows how much Q and A look alike! We hear it from everyone, but in this picture, the resemblance is very clear. :)

5 months old!

I was thankful for the cooler weather this week for one reason--getting to dress Quinn in some warmer outfits that he's quickly growing out of! We love this Adidas outfit (with matching Adidas pants that don't show in this pic) from Daniel and Amanda Hernandez.

Quinn and Daddy were all smiles on Sunday morning.
I love this picture of our wonderful friends' boys Colin and Issac Kuhn. They are the most darling boys, and it's so fun to see what I have to look forward to. This picture cracked me up because Issac soooo wanted to pet Quinn's head but knew he wasn't supposed to. ( :
We had a very fun visit with Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dennis this weekend. Quinn loved swinging with Grandma Mary on our front porch swing.

What a busy week!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms and moms-to-be who read this! I'm soooo excited to enjoy my first official Mother's Day (Quinn was just Little Bean last year at this time)!

We had another fun week. Our current project is trying to figure out what time Quinn should go to bed at night in order to help him take better naps during the day. He puts himself to sleep and sleeps very well at night, but he doesn't like to nap very much. No teeth yet, so we'll just keep experimenting until we figure out what works! :)

Aunt Amy drove all the way here by herself just to spend the day with her nephew. Quinn was thrilled to see her!
This week, Quinn discovered his toes and . . .
his dog, Oliver! He is just fascinated by Oliver, even smiling at him sometimes, but sadly, Oliver still seems to not realize Quinn is there. : )
While at first glance, this may look like a boring picture, it was actually quite exciting. Quinn woke up at 5 the other morning, which is normal for a nighttime feeding. When I went into his nursery, however, I saw the top of his head--he had rolled over onto his tummy but couldn't figure out how to roll back! It was very exciting because since rolling over onto his tummy a few weeks ago, he's lost interest in doing it. After I fed him, I put him back in his crib, and he promptly flipped to his tummy again and fell asleep. It was so cute I had to wake Andy up to show him and take a picture.
We were able to spend two afternoons with Will and Nan this week. Our guys are getting so good at their Jumperoos and Exersaucers. Will is a wonderful model for how to grab toys and play with them more. They still don't look at each other too much, but Nan and I know they'll be best friends soon.
Each day this week was beautifully sunny and warm. I like this picture of us before going on a walk because I love Quinn's chubby little thighs hanging out the bottom. : ) Quinn's face is funny too; he really does like being in the Baby Bjorn even though he looks like a grumpy old man in this picture.

A tooth or not a tooth?

After a fun-filled last week, life settled back down to normal this week. I really think Quinn knew he was back at home because he's sleeping better and seems more comfortable. There were a couple new developments this week. He is no longer swaddled at all--we quit cold turkey 3 nights ago--and I'm really thankful because I didn't know if he wanted to be or not anymore, so it was a clear answer! He sleeps 7 or 8 hour stretches now before one night feeding, which is wonderful, though as I type this, I wonder if I'm jinxing ourselves! ( ;

The big question of the week is, is Quinn teething? For over a month now, people have asked me that based on the large amount of drool that can pour from his mouth. For the first time this week, though, I think he might be. Among other signs, he is chomping on everything, mostly his fingers or ours, and the drooling has increased. I know it can take weeks for the first tooth to pop through, so I'm not holding my breath.

My name is Quinn, and I like to bite fingers and. . .

. . .DROOL! (Notice how he has more hair again! He has a nice consistent fuzz again, though you can only really see it in good lighting. ( ; )

For the first time ever, the cousins showed interest in actually looking at each other. In this picture, Quinn is peering over his Jumperoo to see Fiona. If you knew how much Quinn LOVES his Jumperoo, you know how much he must have wanted to see his cousin to stop jumping in order to gaze at her. Fiona looked at Quinn some too, but I think he was a bit upstaged by the super fun-to-look-at toys in front of him. : )

These two pictures I had to share of my beautiful nieces Carys and Fiona. Carys is a wonderful big sister (and big cousin!), and I love the interaction between them in these pictures.

More Florida Pictures

Quinn loved being at the pool . . .for about 20 minutes. Then he would fall asleep. : )
This smile is in reaction to seeing his daddy walk out toward him. It was such a treat to have Daddy around during the daytime for 7 days straight.

Quinn and Daddy liked to hang out on the lanai in the mornings, just reading and enjoying the amazing view.
Here's a back view of Quinn. Andy isn't a big fan of Quinn's patch of hair in the back, but of course, I think it's super cute. Quinn really enjoyed watching the palm tree fronds waving in the breeze.

Quinn had to wear his sunglasses to be like his cool Uncle Johnny!

What handsome Albert boys!
Beach Baby!!
Siesta Key Beach has been a special place for Andy and me for years, so we were so excited to bring Quinn there.
We had a great time visiting with "Uncle" Dustin, Andy's best friend from home. He lives in Tampa, so he made the drive down. He hadn't seen Quinn since he was 3 weeks old, so we had fun showing him off. Hopefully we'll get to see Dustin again before Quinn is walking and talking!
