A Day Out with Thomas
Today we went to a Day Out with Thomas. It was a little bit spontaneous; we just decided a few days ago to go today, beating the weekend crowds. I'm really glad we went on a Friday because while it is a fun event and full of photo ops, it's not worth braving large crowds and steaming hot weather for. It took us a little longer to drive there than we thought it would too, but Quinn had a great time. He loved seeing the "real" Thomas because he has commented before when we see trains that "They don't have faces!". We didn't ride the train, since we've already told Quinn we'd ride the train to the state fair in August, and it's the same idea, just cheaper and without a Thomas face on the front! He didn't mind at all. He got Thomas tattoos, golfed on a mini-course, went to the petting zoo, met Sir Topham Hatt, and really just enjoyed the festive atmosphere. I think Thomas is one of the cutest characters available to kids, so I'm more than happy to support the company. It was a fun family outing!!

Happy Father's Day!
I'm posting now because I won't be able to on Sunday. Happy Father's Day to my amazing husband! Quinn and I are very blessed to have such a fantastic Daddy in our lives. He works so hard to make it possible for me to stay home with my little guy, and that is a gift beyond measure. He is always ready to be goofy and play with Quinn, and I love watching them invent new games together. It is a very cool thing to see the guy I've known and loved since I was 18 be such an awesome father to our child.
I have a million pictures and a million things I could say, but I'll leave it with this collage and a simple I love you, honey! Happy Father's Day.
And Happy Father's Day to our dads too!! We love you both so much!

It's raining, it's pouring
I feel like it's been raining for days. It hasn't, actually, but we haven't had truly blue skies and bright sunshine for probably almost a week now. And today it rained. All. Day. At least I got some pictures that I thought turned out really well. Quinn grew out of the boots that matched his raincoat, but I think he looks delightfully 2 years old in his mismatched ensemble. :) (If you click on the above picture, it looks even cuter.)

Summer
Two thumbs up!!
I haven't been blogging because I haven't been taking many pictures. I have a great camera, but it's also bulky and not waterproof, so these days, I don't lug it around as often as I should. And when I do take pics, it takes me days or weeks sometimes to download them. So, here's a quick rundown of what we've been doing.

We give our cup o' grass a haircut (a cute project courtesy of the moms' group I go to during the school year).
We hang out with the cousins and share food.
We hang out with our friends, being silly. Here Q is fishing with his best bud Will.
And, among other things, we pretend to be Handy Manny,
or a pirate. (Not pictured, the million times a day Quinn pretends to be Tiger Woods, golfing all over the yard.)
